pink majesty

I had a custom order for an all-pink tiara from the lovely Valarie.  This was a fun one to make.  It’s hard not to be happy when you’re surrounded by pink goodies to craft with!  I’ve had these vintage pink swirly feathers for a while and new they’d be perfect in this pink confection.  I hope you like it, Valarie.  I still need to put the ribbons on, but other than that, it’s finished.

OK.  I’m trying to get a picture of myself, but it is SO hard.  I need a tri pod.  This one is way too serious and just looks funny, but I was having a decent hair day, so I tried to get a picture for the website.  No luck.  The problem is, I’m the only adult around in the morning when my hair looks good!  Maybe I can get Brian (husband) to snap a shot of me this weekend.  Not that I really want a picture of myself plastered here, but people have asked me what I look like and I admit I really like to see what people look like on their blogs too.  It helps me feel like I know them better.  I’ll keep trying, but for now, this is me:

So yeah, I’m going to Silver Bella!  Are you?  I cannot wait.  I was so happy to get into some amazing classes.  I’m rooming with such fun girls and we’ll be close by so many wonderful girls.  I don’t know who all is going yet, so if you are, leave a comment and let me know so I can check out your blog if we haven’t met and make a mental note of it!

OK, I’m off to get some plants for the sad flower beds.  Ugh.  I have got to give those babies some attention.

To my fellow US citizens, I wish you all a safe and happy Independence Day!  Eat lots of grilled foods, play with sparklers, watch kids run through sprinklers, maybe have a margarita (or two!) and enjoy your freedoms.  I know I will.  Our town has a little parade and then we’ll go to the town park for the ice cream festival, where we’ll see this year’s Ice Cream Princess crowned.  How cute is that?  You don’t get more small town America than a parade on Main Street and an Ice Cream Festival!   See you soon and be safe this holiday.

ginny-france-ma-3.jpg

I’ve finished Ginny’s book in our Marie Antoinette International Round Robin.  Whew!  Three down, one to go.  We’re doing four pages in each person’s book, so I’ve done 12 or so of these so far.  Here is what I did for sweet Ginny:

The last one of the crown you’ve already seen, but I thought I’d put all of her pages in one post so she can see them all together.

Have I told you we’re remodelling our kitchen?  Well, we are.  Almost done, actually.  Don’t worry, we still have the awesome old seafoam/jadite green stove.  We’ve just changed the countertops and backsplash.  Can’t wait to show you.  Probably next week I’ll have pictures ready.

I’m off to clean house.  So much fun.

100 birthday cards

June 24, 2008

wish.jpg

Have you all been following what Karla is doing for her dear aunt’s 100th birthday?  Over the last several months she has been gathering cards from anyone willing to make a hand-made card for her aunt.  Her idea was to present her with 100 cards on her 100th birthday.  What a lovely idea.

Here is my offering for her aunt.

wish-2.jpg

The ballerina is “holding” a piece of vintage writing that says “birthday” and she sits on a scalloped oval of vintage pink flocked wallpaper.  I attached that to a card (thanks, Andrea!) that says “wish”.  It even has the number 100 in the corner!  How lucky is that!?  I overlaid some vintage pink flocked swiss-dot tulle just for fun.

Simple, but sweet I think.  I hope you like it, Karla.  Should be there tomorrow (fingers crossed!).  I hope your sweet aunt loves it as well.

I’m working on a few special orders and trying to get some things put together for the shop.  People have asked me for vintage wallpaper packs, but My oh MY are they a big deal to put together!  I’m thinkin about it.  I will have some smaller little packs of things that will include vintage wallpaper (and flocked too!) soon.

I’m off to get some work done, girls.  Back soon with some pretty things that I’ve bought from other sellers recently.  Love that.  I love to buy from all you gals, your creativity amazes me.

Night! xo
